Made my cappuccino & my husband's black espresso: no pleasing flavor, in fact unpleasant flavor. Tried again, to be certain. Not good! Mailed entire bag back at my expense, as no answer via phone on Friday evening & wanted to get it over and done with. Received call a few days later from a rude and insulted rep. who chastised me for returning without authorizarion. The policy is no returns on coffee. Refused me a credit or even in-house credit. I let my platinum credit card handle it, the seller has the coffee beans and my money!

No need for a detailed review, these beans make great espresso. I have a Gaggia Classic espresso maker and a Krups burr grinder to grind the beans, and this trio (Lavazza Super Crema Beans + machine + grinder) makes fantastic espresso every time. The crema is perfect, there is not the slightest hint of bitterness. My only warning about these beans is that if you own an espresso maker at home, you should be real careful buying these beans as you may find yourself going crazy making espressos. These beans consistently make an espresso that is as good or better than anything I've found commercially in the US (and I'm not going to rant about the coffee beverage that Starbucks sells as espresso and puts in a paper cup). This bag of espresso beans is definitely more expensive than what you can find in the grocery store (or elsewhere), but this is a case of you get what you pay for. If you like espresso, this is money well spent.

Being a long time consumer of Lavazza Creama E Gusto which I find most enjoyable, I thought I'd give Super Creama a try.Very disapointing on flavor and fullness. For a latte I find it necessary to double the quantity in the basket and cut the milk by 80-90% so instead of a 10 oz

double, it's a single shot expresso with a dash of milk. The bean is a medium brown in color that is reflected in it's charater. Back to "Creama E Gusto"

I've given up drinking regular coffee and now either go Espresso or Cafe American.

I think i prefer a lighter bean such as the Northern Italian mix that Lavazza uses, over the darker ones, like Starbucks and Illy.



This whole bean suits my espresso needs well, and has great crema!

This was my first experience with the Lavazza Brand. It will be my last experience with Lavazza also. I expect espresso beans to be dark, shiny, and flavorful and this Gran Gusto bean was none of the above. I thought I was getting a bargain, but found that you get what you pay for.

All of Lavazza's coffees that I've tried are excellent. I use espresso - as you can see by the label - the way I would ordinary coffee in my drip coffee maker. Lavazza espresso yields a strong yet never bitter brew. There non-espresso grinds also are excellent. You absolutely can't go wrong with Lavazza.

I really hoped I would like this espresso, the main reason being that I just can't take the financial assault that Illy Medium Roast puts on my monthly budget. With that being said, I found this to have a cardboard-like, slightly bitter taste. I was hoping to reproduce the rich, nutty taste that I get from a pull of Illy. Perhaps there is another Lavazza product which will fare better. I use a Saeco Classico, so if anyone has some advice, I am open to it.

I really wanted to like this coffee. I wanted something that I could take to the office and use with my AeroPress coffee maker or use when I wanted a quick shot of espresso without grinding the beans. However, I guess once you start drinking fresh ground you cannot go back to buying ground coffee. The date on the bottom of the can is over a year away, but the coffee still smelled stale to me when I pealed the metal top off the can. I tried it a couple times in my Saeco made espresso machine. The crema was weak and the flavor was thin and slightly bitter. I poured it down the drain rather than finish it. I prefer Illy's dark roast espresso, but my local grocer no longer carries it, probably because it did cost more than any other brand.



I guess I should have heeded another reviewer. My favorite coffee is Peet's and I think French Roast is the peak of perfection. I like the beans dark and shiny. This coffee was a medium brown color, not the dark brown that I'm used to. There's a reason why espresso shops freshly grind the coffee, it really makes a difference and is worth the extra time, expense and effort. The Baratza Maestro Plus is an excellent cone burr grinder (...). It will give you years of service. I've tried cheaper ones and they just eventually die.

One of my favorites to use in my old reliable francis x1. I never bother with grinding my own bean, especially because I enjoy this brand as-is without the extra step. There are definitely better espresso to be had, but as my generic, always in the cupboard, this is my usual go-to.

I find that the espresso made from the Lavazza Decaf pods do form a nice crema, and have a nice aroma, but do taste a little too mild for my taste. It does make a nice cappuccino though.
